Jack Freund, of Measuring and Managing Information Risk fame, edited and released a new book titled Fintech: Growth and Deregulation. I’m happy to announce that I wrote a chapter titled “Cyber-risk Quantification of Financial Technology.”
I had a great time writing the chapter and I’m really happy with the way it turned out. I currently work at one of the largest fintechs, LendingClub, and I used my experience as a technology and information security risk manager to communicate emerging risks and demonstrate a quantitative risk assessment based on FAIR.
Some of the topics I covered:
The changing security paradigm that some financial technologies, such as blockchain, present
Risk management in an uncertain regulatory environment
The perils of using poor risk management techniques
Performing a risk analysis of blockchain ledgers
Expanding the idea of threat agents as it applies to fintech
